Step 2: Create Token

Now that you have your NFT setup, it is time to Create the Token on Hedera!

Post Metadata

In the near future, we may combine this step with Create Token. For the time being, we want to make sure you understand the process and can verify that the information is correct before Creating your Token.

To post your metadata, click the Advanced Box to open.

For advanced users, you can use the advanced box to upload your own metadata file to IPFS and specify that metadata link here. If you do so, we will not create the metadata for you.

NOTE: We do not verify your JSON, so please take care to validate your information before creating your token.

Please confirm that the information below the Metadata IPFS box is correct. {"name":"DPub NFT"} etc. It should be just fine, but this is a good intermediate step to take to verify.

If all looks good - click the "Post Metadata" button. When this is complete, you will have a link in the Metadata IPFS box.

Create Token

Once your metadata IPFS is filled in (manually or through "Post Metadata") you will see the Create NFT box appear.

We don't show you the fees associated with creating a token before you create your token. To understand the Hedera fees:

Create on DPub, Approve in Hashpack

DPub is non-custodial, which means that everything is created under your account id which means you have to approve all actions in your Hashpack chrome extension.

For the best experience,

1. Open up your Hashpack chrome extension and log in to your account

2. On DPub, click the Create NFT button

3. After a few seconds, you will be asked in Hashpack to approve the creation (see below image)

4. If your NFT looks good, click approve. If it does not look right, click reject and go back and edit your NFT in DPub.

After clicking approve in Hashpack, you should get a box that says complete - and you can click done.

If you receive any errors, please use the Discord Support channel.

DPub will now wait to detect your new Token ID

You don't need to do anything - just wait patiently for Hedera and DPub to do their thing!

When the token id is detected the Create NFT button will disappear and you will then be able to scroll up and Mint your NFT!

Your NFT now has a token ID, but it is not yet minted. This means that no serial numbers have yet been created. So go to the next step to Mint your NFT!
